San Juan Capistrano – Today, Assemblywoman Laurie Davies (R-Laguna Niguel) issued the following statement following the release of the annual budget by Governor Gavin Newsom:

“They say if you aren’t at the table, you’re on the menu, and unfortunately for suffering Californians without an invitation to exclusive parties, critical funding is on the menu in Governor Newsom’s latest budget,” said Assemblywoman Davies. “While I commend the Governor for providing funding to build more affordable housing, there is much to be desired in this budget. I urge the Governor to work with the Legislature to reallocate proposed zero-emission vehicle funding towards increased relief funding for our more than 4.1 million small businesses and 7.2 million small business employees. In addition, we should be reducing regulatory roadblocks that prevent our healthcare systems from thriving and getting Californian’s past this pandemic.”

Assemblywoman Laurie Davies represents the 73rd Assembly District, which includes the communities of southern Orange County, including Aliso Viejo, Coto de Caza, Dana Point, Ladera Ranch, Laguna Hills, Laguna Niguel, Las Flores, Mission Viejo, Rancho Mission Viejo, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano and Trabuco Canyon.
