As your State Assemblywoman, I am pleased to update you on the progress of my proposed legislation in the Senate Committees. I am particularly proud of Assembly Bills 882 and 996, which take significant strides in our ongoing battle against coastal erosion—an urgent concern for our community. These bills go beyond merely assessing our current efforts; they provide faster funding for projects by cutting through red tape. This is vital not just for our environment but also for our thriving ecotourism industry.

In my fight to keep our communities safe, two of my bills unanimously passed the Senate Public Safety Committee. Assembly Bill 76 updates our tactics in addressing hidden cryptocurrency transactions by including “digital assets” to the definition of money laundering. Assembly Bill 303 makes our neighborhoods safer by improving information sharing between state and local law enforcement. This measure works to remove illegal guns possessed by criminals.

I am so proud to announce we have secured over $25 million for our community. This funding in Orange County will go toward modernization and infrastructure improvements in schools with Capistrano Unified School District and provide the Orange County Fire Authority with the equipment they need to keep our communities safe from wildfires. In North San Diego County, investments will be made for the construction of modern training centers for the Oceanside Fire Department and the refurbishment of a community event center in Vista.

By forging and nurturing bipartisan relationships, I was able to help secure $3 million for the Coastal Ocean Pollution Pathogen Predictions model at the Tijuana River Estuary and Border Beaches. Another $2 million was also secured for the California Coastal Mapping Program. I was pleased to support education budget measures that fund Narcan distribution to schools and to recognize the contributions of military spouses who are teachers in other states, ensuring they can continue their teaching careers here in California.

While I am engaged with legislative matters in Sacramento, know that I am always in tune with our district’s needs and tirelessly working for the betterment of our community. Your participation and feedback are invaluable; events like this deepen my connection with you all, and I am honored to represent you in the State Assembly.
