Sacramento – Today, Assemblymember Laurie Davies (R-Laguna Niguel) issued the following statement following Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas (D- Hollister) naming her the new Vice-Chair of the powerful Assembly Committee on Transportation: “I am honored to be named as Vice-Chair of this Committee and look forward to working with my colleagues on passing meaningful reforms to streamline transportation infrastructure improvement projects,” Davies said. “Our region is home to many unique types of transportation challenges and needs, continued Davies. I will make it my priority to advocate for improving and finally fixing the LOSSAN Rail line as well as addressing the ongoing issues with Highway 78. Furthermore, I will ensure tax-payer dollars are used and spent appropriately.”
Prior to joining the State Assembly in 2020, Assemblymember Davies was a member of the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) due to her role as Mayor of the City of Laguna Niguel.
