AB 229 – Criminal procedure, Sexually transmitted disease testing: This measure would allow a sexual assault victim the ability to petition a court to test their abuser for
STDs.
AB 383 – Firearms prohibition, minors: This measure would prohibit any minor who violates current firearm laws, including using one in a
crime, from owning or possessing a firearm until the age of 30. Fact Sheet
AB 837 – Ketamine: This measure would make it illegal to transport ketamine into the state for the purpose of selling it outside of a medical or veterinary purpose. Fact Sheet
AB 924 – Leases Termination of Tenancy: This measure will require a landlord to evenly split a security deposit between tenants if one of the tenants commits an act of domestic violence on another tenant.
AB 1005 – Drowning prevention: This measure authorizes schools work with outside organizations to provide water safety education
to 1st-12th graders and parents. Furthermore, it codifies the finding that swim lessons can reduce drowning by 88%, and will provide vouchers to underserved families to receive free swim lessons. Fact Sheet
AB 423 – Alcoholism or drug abuse recovery or treatment programs and facilities: This bill would defines a new type of recovery residence, and will require them to register with the Department of Health Care Service (DHCS). Fact Sheet
AB 424 – Alcohol and other drug programs: This bill requires the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) to notify a complainant within 10 days that their complaint was received, then requires a secondary notification at the conclusion of the investigation. Fact Sheet
AB 425 – Certification of alcohol or other drug programs: This bill requires the adoption of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) treatment criteria for certified facilities in commercial districts. Fact Sheet
AB 296 – Career technical education: sale of equipment: This measure would require school districts to host at least 1 apprenticeship fair a school year in the same way they do college or career fairs. Fact Sheet
AB 587 – Student Aid Commission: This measure will require that the CA Student Aid Commission include a Veteran as a member of their
board to help with financial aid policies. Fact Sheet
AB 615 – Career technical education: sale of equipment: This measure would require that as a part of the approval process to operate an energy storage
facility, the applicant submit a safety risk assessment to determine first responder capabilities and residential area dangers in the event of an emergency at the facility. Fact Sheet
AB 494 – Nonminor dependents: This measure allows judicial discretion in waiving the one-year residency requirement when a foster youth ages 18-21 demonstrates a significant connection to the new county and needs their services transferred to the new county for work or education purposes. AB 266 – Freeway Service Patrol Act: This measure would allow a local transportation agency the ability to seek corporate sponsorships to fund free roadside freeway service patrol tow trucks. 16 states already do this. Fact Sheet
AB 544 – Electric Bicycles: This measure will require all electric bicycles (E-Bikes) to be equipped with both front and rear lights whenever in operation as well as require minor riders to wear specialized e-bike helmets when in use. Fact Sheet
AB 545 – Electric Bicycles: This measure would clarify that no product may call itself or market itself an electric bicycle (E-Bike) if it is physically capable of exceeding 750 watts. Fact Sheet
AB 1051 – Route 76: This measure would rename a portion of Route 76, from the City of Oceanside to the La Jolla Band of Luiseño Indians Reservation, as the “Payómkawish Highway”.
